Weekly Update #1 — Discovery & Wireframes
Summary
First week complete. We finished discovery, stakeholder interviews, and initial wireframes. On track for visual design next week.
What We Did
- Discovery workshop (2 hours) — aligned on brand values, target audience, and key user journeys
- Competitor audit — reviewed 5 competitor sites, identified UX patterns to adopt and avoid
- Content audit — mapped all existing pages, flagged outdated content, identified gaps
- Wireframes — created low-fidelity wireframes for all 8 pages
Key Decisions Made
| Decision | Choice | Rationale |
|---|
| Navigation | Mega menu with service categories | 4 service lines need clear hierarchy |
| Hero section | Video background with overlay | Client’s existing brand video is high quality |
| Blog layout | Card grid (not list) | Better visual engagement, supports featured images |
| Contact | Multi-step form | Reduces bounce, qualifies leads before submission |
